FOCUS GROUP FOR MUSEUM OPERATORS AND CULTURAL MEDIATORS AMIR
June 16, 2021
Continuing the path begun in 2020, the focus group was created through a methodology that favored a comparison-reflection between the participants starting from the questions and solicitations of Sabrina Tosi Cambini, cultural anthropologist. This made it possible to work on representation and self-representation, on the circularity of meanings and interpretations between the work, the Amir mediators, the public and the museum context/setting, constantly bringing out the game of looks and classifications. This path, made up of continuous reversals of interpretation, will be continued in the autumn.
The Focus Group was created nwithin the Amir4all project, thanks to the contribution of the CR Firenze Foundation in the context of "CULTURAL PARTICIPATION",
AMIREDU
A CYCLE OF TRAINING AND UPDATING MEETINGS FOR AMIR MEDIATORS
In a difficult moment like the one we are experiencing today, where even museums are closed, we try to carry on our work with a positive look towards the future. Study, analysis and narration of cultural heritage thus become the main object of our attention to better enrich the time at home and not lose the enthusiasm of being together. Amir, who finds his roots in meeting and being together, is happy to experiment with new ways of meeting, to come back more aware and prepared than before!
WALK TO THE BEACHES
FRIDAY 11 JUNE at 17:15
There are places in the city that are rarely frequented by those who don't live there and are often the subject of stereotypes. These are neighborhoods that remain ignored even if they are part of the history of our territory. Le Piagge is one of these: born in the '70s, it has been the subject of strong public housing projects, whose buildings, the so-called "Navi", have become a symbol of it.
Although there are specific dynamics of the urban suburbs, Le Piagge is also characterized by solidarity between family networks, multilingualism, youthful energies.
It is precisely young teenagers who are the protagonists of this walk, along which they will show museum/cultural operators the places in the neighborhood, those that have a meaning for their daily lives, their meeting spaces.
Departure from the Centro Metropolis, viale Liguria 4, Le Piagge
Event reserved for educators and museum educators.

FOCUS GROUP FOR MUSEUM OPERATORS AND CULTURAL MEDIATORS AMIR
January 23, 2020
As part of the Amir project, Amir4all was born, a project created thanks to the contribution of the CR Firenze Foundation as part of "CULTURAL PARTICIPATION", which directs its attention to the relationship between the center and the periphery of the city. Within Amir4all, a Focus Group was held, which should have been followed by two more
meetings, but the route was interrupted due to Covid-19; therefore we continued with a job
of writing in February.
The methodology employed was that of aactive focus grouporganized into sub-groups, formed through some division criteria set by the trainer to the participants (among these: how many countries did you grow up in, in the city or in the countryside, languages spoken well, already belonging to Amir or
recently entered the project). During the focus group, two key concepts were addressed through group work and collective discussion: culture and cultural heritage.
The activity was curated by Sabrina Tosi Cambini, anthropologist and partner of the project through
Italian Society of Applied Anthropology.
