Museo Bandini

The Bandini Museum exhibits the collection of paintings and terracottas of the canon Angelo Maria Bandini. A passionate collector of books and works of art, Bandini was aware of the communicative power that artistic images can have and that is why on his death he decided to leave his entire collection to the Chapter of the Cathedral of Fiesole, for the "benefit and education ” of the Fiesolani. The works conserved in the Museum allow us to retrace the history of Tuscan painting between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and are a "mine of symbols" of the culture of the time.

Christmas and the Feast of Light

Through the works of art and historical testimonies conserved in the Museums of Fiesole, the AMIR mediators tell us about the Christian Christmas and its links with many festivals which, in various parts of the world and in various historical periods, celebrate the rebirth of light.

Images: symbols that migrate, meanings that change

Symbols help us understand the stories and characters depicted in works of art. They often come from far away and have come to us after millennial journeys. This visit sheds light on some of them, illustrating their meanings and grasping the links between cultures that have handed them down over time.
